James was born in Anaheim, CA and raised in Lincoln, Ca a small rodeo town outside of Sacramento. Growing up his family moved around until settling in northern California. James’s musical influences stem from classic artists, such as Elvis and Frank Sinatra to country influences that include George Strait, Garth Brooks, and Tim McGraw.

At the age of 15 he joined his school choir and there he found his passion for connecting to an audience through song. Soon after he joined a number of theater groups, and won several local singing competitions. Once he started writing his own music, he found his voice.

After high school James moved to Los Angeles, where he received a scholarship from The American Musical and Dramatic Academy. While attending school, he co-wrote and played around the city with the acoustic duo Everett Coast (Danny Byrne & Josh Misko) at many notable venues including, House of Blues Sunset Strip, Howl at The Moon, State Social House, and the Dodger Stadium Promenade.

James then moved east to Nashville, TN where he recorded his first demos. Soon after he signed a publishing deal with Cutcraft Music Group/ Imagem Music.

With the conclusion of James' Gravity Tour, he has settled back into the studio where he is writing and recording for his next release.
