Brooklyn-based artist Darwin Deez has taken the music world by storm in the last few years with his infectious pop songs, eccentric dance routines (think Napoleon Dynamite) and inventive lo-fi musical compositions. His unique sound has garnered media praise and loyal fan bases worldwide, and from what it looks like, things have only begun to heat up for this talented star.

After briefly playing in N.Y.C band Creaky Floors, Darwin "Deez" Smith began writing and recording his solo material on an old PC and a $200 microphone. In 2009, Deez signed to UK label Lucky Number, and in December of that year, his single "Constellations" was given a limited, UK only release. Almost immediately there were promising signs that here was a truly unique artist in the making as major media sources such as the BBC, The Guardian and NME began singing their praises.

Fast forward a year and he has far exceeded early expectations. From packing out each and every venue he has played across the country with his refreshingly unique live show; to becoming a must-see highlight of nearly all of this year's summer festivals; to the singles "Radar Detector" and "Up in the Clouds" and "Constellations" achieving playlist additions on Radio One, 6Music and XFM; to the ardent and continued press support from the NME, it is now clear that Darwin Deez is becoming that rare thing in this day and age - a bona fide, larger than life pop star.

Deez's eponymous debut album was released in early 2010 to critical acclaim. Darwin is currently back in the studio working on album #2!
